Dragon Heaters use state of the art wood burning combustion chambers for a wide variety heating appliances. They provide a smokeless burn at an extremely high temperature that is extraordinarily efficient and results in little ash. They require no electricity and do not utilize catalytic converters, so offer the ultimate in reliable low cost off-grid heating.
The unique wood burning combustion chambers (patent pending) are available for purchase separately for DIY projects such as:
Plans and kits for various projects are constantly being added to the site. These plans are designed to offer premium performance at reasonable prices. Complete plans and instructional DVDs are provided.
The basic design of the combustion chamber is based on rocket heater j-tube, vertical feed designs. However they have been enhanced in a number of important ways that yield results and designs not possible with traditional rocket heaters. Cast iron stoves deliver heat into a space quickly from the radiating steel or iron enclosure, but since their thermal mass is limited they go cold quickly. They are relatively small, light, and can be prebuilt to offer an economical solution. Masonry heaters on the other hand heat up a room very slowly with even heating. They do so over a long period of time due to their large thermal mass. They are also very large, heavy, typically expensive, and must be built in place.
Dragon Heaters can offer stoves that deliver heat both quickly through infrared radiation and slowly by storing heat in its integrated thermal mass. This approach offers immediate warming while providing continuous heating even hours after the stove is out. These designs are “bell” heaters and can be viewed in the plans and kits section.
